It's May the 4th, so here's another 'nother progress preview of my Trek Wars Droid short I'm Jawa-ing away on...
I made this!
Lots of refinement to do, but I think I'm getting close to that clunky '70s Woolworths homewear prop department chic.

Woman does a cover of Kraftwerk's Ohm Sweet Ohm on the Theremin
The way she shapes her hands to change the notes and the control she has is pretty amazing to watch

Terry Lee Hale
I recently stumbled upon this guy and have spent the last few weeks rinsing all his stuff. A few of the earlier ones are more on the country and western territory and I haven't got into them as much but the latter half of his discography particularly is great. Shotgun Pillowcase and The Long Draw are excellent. This, his latest, is sublime.
From what I can gather he was Seattle based and associated with Sub Pop so I came across him as he was associated with the grunge scene.

that's the bit I had a problem with
(and for the great uneducated out there Sky = Dish. Telly = aerial)

Well, yes and aerials receive, not transmit
But my real issue is that Brandreth's whole way of talking and his schtick, especially on Just a Minute, is that he is so clever and erudite, but he's not. He's just a twat in a jumper.

well ashully
aerials also transmit but I am just nit picking - fully agree he is a bell end though. (but I knew that after watching that thing he did with gary glitter)

This applies to just about any receiver though
A radio receiver transmits sound, but not radio waves. Unless we're going to throw convention out of the window I'd argue that a satellite dish does not transmit. Nit-picking aside, of course!
Also, reminds me of a crazy idea I had about having LNBs transmit a small amount of power to supply the satellite. It didn't get past the first conversation with an RF expert!

I'd assumed it was CGI until I saw the level of detail in the imperfect car bodies - I'd love to see the geometrical shapes in the flesh.

What the bloody hell? Is this right? Have LBC ditched a presented because of pressure?

A real pity as Myska was one of the 3 or 4 sensible voices on LBC.
James O'brien is getting less and less listenable as his monologues grow longer and longer, Sheila Fogarty is just a pro-right wing, pro-Israel O.D.D./contrarian now, David Lammy should not be allowed a radio show (just like 30p Lee and Mogg shouldn't be allowed their TV shows on GBeebies), really it's just Nick Abbott left as the voice of reason.

Getting Feltz in is like rubbing kosher salt in the wound.
Thank Christ I’ll never have to sit through Talk TV ever again come June.
Not sure where to stand on the Lammy thing; I don’t listen enough to LBC to know if he’s giving off the news or just doing call-ins. But I do know where I stand on MPs with second jobs so fuck it, axe him.

It's a call in show about news and politics
and Lammy does a fair bit of party messaging. Live radio means sometimes he will report breaking news, but that's not really the primary purpose of a call in host. It's a bit of a blurry grey area.

I dare say he’ll quit when they win the election anyway.

Alpacas found to be the only mammal to directly inseminate the uterus
Biologists have found that the male alpaca thrusts his penis all the way into the uterus of the female during mating, making the camelid the only mammal known to do so

I made this!
Simple: x, y, z cube of red, green, blue. Parameterized to 100 in each dimension. Down, down, one heartbeat per minute down, chill out graphical art. Screengaze if you will.
