Yes, I know.

I never felt he was at his best in the Naked Gun movies - notwithstanding the "Nice beaver" line in the first film, but in Airplane, and Police Squad on TV, he reigned supreme.
And did a pretty good job as a straight actor in Forbidden Planet.

When Frank & Nordberg go undercover as locksmiths, but every time Nordberg uses the key cutter, the blank shoots up to the ceiling, meaning a pile of keys tinkle to the ground every time the door to the shop opens. I'm grinning like a loon just remembering it.
