# Sir Wobbly
Can I ask how you get transparency on your animations? When I try and have different areas as transparent in each frame they get rendered out as grey for some reason
Or can anyone else help please?

# btw I am using ImageReady 7 :)

# maybe your colour palette in the optimizing options is set to "custom"?
if so, try "selective" or some other option from the top of the list, or add the transparency channel to your colour palette yourself if you want to have control over which colours are being used

# Thank you!
I guess that would be 'indexed' colour mode to set a transparent colour in Photoshop first, rather than just opening the psd with areas of transparency on each frame's layer?

# forget everything I just said and just check if the "transparency" checkbox is checked in the Optimize Window
(you may have to activate the advanced options via the arrow in the top left right corner of said window)

# It is, but the transparency only seems to work for those pixels which are transparent for every frame.
Those pixels which have colour for one or more frames are rendered as grey for the other frames. I reckon that the transparent colour through fixed palette might be worth a shot, I'll give it a go this week at some point. Cheers for the help!

# hmmmm
I never had that kind of problems with IR7, I'd just change some optimize settings now one after another and check the output file for changes

# I use use PSP for the images...
I save them individually as .png images with a transparent background.
I then import these into AnimationShop, set the timings an save as a .gif
