# Flank Sinatra?
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 7:44, archived)
# I'm sad to hear that.
I'm still having fun here, just a bit less often that's all :)
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 7:48, archived)
# Mind you, the whole internet seems in a slow decline.
Facebook is a lot slower these days as are several other forums I use. I reckon it's smartphones - easy to read stuff on them, but harder to reply than when you're sat in front of a keyboard. I reckon we still have as many users/lurkers, just fewer of them posting.
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 7:53, archived)
# that's because eveyone and their mum is on facebook,
annoying uncles who keep spamming you with stupid game invites and "liking" every coroprate shit sandwich in the hope of getting something free makes facebook a bit shit
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 8:02, archived)
# So much this^
"Cousin Fuckface like Vagisil. Like Vagisil for a free sample"
Bores me to fucking tears.
That and a whole bunch of people giving a blow-by-blow commentary on the olympic opening ceremony.

(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 8:05, archived)
# So your point is
"Tears; a better lubricant than Vagisil"?
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 8:17, archived)
# Yes.
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 8:30, archived)
# ooooo!
where did you get this from?
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 7:53, archived)
# I looked up the dates of significant post milestones
and plotted a graph. The lower graph is the daily post rate between measurements.
Ah, how I remember the 10,000,000th post...
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 7:54, archived)
# does it include replies, or just new threads?
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 7:58, archived)
# All of the above.
Don't know if possible to separate them out.
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 8:02, archived)
# so post more and be more creative
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 8:03, archived)
# Creative is what I do for work.

# Oh well
the trouble with cancer is it spreads
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 8:46, archived)
# Eh?
Is it a refernece to the QOTW fubar?
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 8:52, archived)
# If you let one part of the site be over run with retarded narcissist, bitter fuckwits
the odds were the rest of all this will inevitably follow, as overall interest being here will diminish
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 9:04, archived)
# I guess QOTW was the middle ground
between the different boards. Turned out badly, though. I see where some of the more abrasive personalities are coming from in terms of some of the real needy attention seekers, but it's too far when a story that fits all the criteria gets beasted for no real reason.
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 9:28, archived)
# What's killed it is the usual tossers spreading discord and ill-will in replies, week after week
it's obvious who they are; simply remove them from this place, and harmony might return

Why the fuck have they ever been tolerated in the first place?
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 9:36, archived)
# That;s two QOTWs aborted in a month.
I wonder if the naughty step/banhammer will come out? Mind you, the whole place will be overrun with Honda Accord drivers and "I got the last laugh" stories if there's no counterbalance.
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 9:53, archived)
# But at least that was more preferable to what's been allowed to unfold
I removed myself from the b3ta Facebook group I set up yesterday because it's simply become a mirror to everything that's shit about this place; they actually seem to relish antagonising other people. In real life that's a recipe for having the shit kicked out of you when your past eventually catches up with you.

It's a small world at the end of the day
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 10:09, archived)
# Aye, there's a point in that.
A certain mustelid-based chap does it very well, but some of the others a far too blunt to be amusing. One day, someone's going to really throw the rattle out of the pram. Internet lawyers at dawn, etc.
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 10:36, archived)
# B&!

# browsing over the thread below i discovered hedgie left
why!?!
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 8:59, archived)
# I know!
Especially with the level of genius that can make this image:

(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 9:31, archived)
# hahahaha
he made great pics, bloody shame. (at least his account is still active)

oi, hedgie, if you're lurking, get the fuck back here
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 9:36, archived)
# he left because he was sick of happytoast
same as clay
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 14:15, archived)
# to be clear, he was sick of me doing things I hadn't done
but never considered actually asking me if I had
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 21:29, archived)
# fuck him
(, Mon 30 Jul 2012, 17:42, archived)
# after carefully considering the information provided the conclusion reached was thus
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 9:10, archived)
# Pfft!
Well-timed cocksplash on that there.
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 9:25, archived)
# timing is everything
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 9:54, archived)
# The internet has far more distractions than it did 2, 5 or 10 years ago.
A lot of the solid ideas became fractured and divisive, or tried to be all things to all people, and were distilled across other sites into streamlined upstarts - multiplying the demands for online attention and diluting people's loyalties.

There's also the matter of increased demands by the real world.
These vampires won't slay themselves, and I have much to do before sunset.
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 10:00, archived)
# Aye,
Work is so completely draining right now that I can barely raise a mildly amusing thought these days, let alone make a picture of it.
My boss consumes results and goodwill int eh same way my children consume food - voraciously with no gratitude and no idea of how long it took to get it ready.
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 10:04, archived)
# Your boss is probably a vampire.
Hammering two feet of wood through his/her chest will soon fix that.
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 10:15, archived)
# Don't tempt me.
I have to try so hard not to look at him as some curious object when he's talking to me. Four months to go...
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 10:34, archived)
# I feel bad now for telling all those noobs to fuck off
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 10:21, archived)
# Now think about what you've done.
Oh, you are already.
That's ok then.
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 11:43, archived)
# Fuck off noob!
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 11:50, archived)
# Ha ha! n00b!
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 11:53, archived)
# Think most forums have been hit in the same way.
I'd probably blame Twitter which appeals to the chattier types.

That said, I do think that b3ta remains unique in being a great place to launch work, since most rival sites focus far too heavily on mass-appeal virals rather than the more interesting or Brit-centric stuff.

Shame we've lost a couple of good members like Clay recently, though.
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 10:49, archived)
# It's a great place, even if it is quieter.
Why did Clay go?
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 11:39, archived)
# The usual reason, massive flounce.
(, Sat 28 Jul 2012, 11:47, archived)
# It's only dying if netcraft confirms it
like it confirms the death of BSD

:)
