You only pay corporation tax on your profits...so the corp tax avoidance doesn't really come into play, as they will have paid the same corporation tax as Amazon, i.e. bugger all tax on bugger all profit.
HMV did, however, try to get out of paying VAT by importing goods through Gurnsey.
