# .
pretentious over rated Tron rip off
(, Mon 19 May 2003, 15:48, archived)
# redex, richard

Edit: Or is there some beautiful subtlety I'm missing here? I guess I'll never know.

# it's not for
me.. dunno.

# Hey hey hey!
A bloke I work with says he got Matrix Reloaded on CD and he'll burn me a copy!

Only saves me a fiver and I have to find someone with a PC at home, but it's still pretty cool anyway!
(, Mon 19 May 2003, 15:52, archived)
# It'll be a crappy
cam and not worth the money. Spend the £5 at the cinema instead.
(, Mon 19 May 2003, 15:54, archived)
# He's doing it for free
but I think it's the genuine article, not some bloke in a cinema with a camcorder
(, Mon 19 May 2003, 15:55, archived)
# nah it'll just be pr0n,
but he'll have written "the matrix reloaded - the real deal, no really" on it...
(, Mon 19 May 2003, 15:59, archived)
# i don't see the point (i was going to say thrust) of your argument
everyone's a winner!
(, Mon 19 May 2003, 16:05, archived)
# When you say 'genuine' what exactly do you think you mean?
1: You can't get a DVD quality film onto a CD
2: The film companies would never release a low quality version even for reviewing purposes
3: If someone else has done better than taking a camcorder into a cinema then it implies organised pirating which tends to imply organised crime *.
4: If you're so strapped for cash that a fiver is worth something and it is a 'proper' pirate CD then shop this guy and collect the reward.

* - When I worked at the film soc. at Uni, our film storage box had to be position in sight of the road. The securicor guys would not walk down corridoors or round corners to get there. A single 70mm print is worth between 50 and 100 k and the people who want to pirate stuff tend to acquire them via the use of baseball bats and shotguns.

No, I don't work for the RIAA or anyone else but I do know that pirated films are never worth it.

# sorry but if you just download them from
the internet, while some a crap quality some are as good as they would be on VHS.
They suddenly become very much worth it.
(, Mon 19 May 2003, 16:07, archived)
# unless everytime you try and download "the real deal"
all you get are 3 copies of a p0rno, ice age, dumb and dumber and other crap films... (or so i heard...)
(, Mon 19 May 2003, 16:12, archived)
# Yes, but not that would fit on a single CD
(which was what was implied above).
(, Mon 19 May 2003, 16:13, archived)
# DivX or XViD encoded
movies easily exceed the quality of VHS and often fit on 1 CD. The best rip of Matrix Reloaded currently around is a 3CD SVCD Telesync.
(, Mon 19 May 2003, 16:19, archived)
# Yup
DivX is the business, if you're willing to spend the time, getting the optimisation settings spot on.
(, Mon 19 May 2003, 16:21, archived)
# It's deeply illegal
and very wrong.
(, Mon 19 May 2003, 16:17, archived)
# No, that's
exactly what it'll be.
(, Mon 19 May 2003, 16:08, archived)
# your pics
sometimes red-x at first until I refresh

# Monkeon
has Fat Boab spoken to you about the Great CD Swap?
(, Mon 19 May 2003, 15:57, archived)
# nope

# ah yes right.
I've just sent an email to new mediacrity sah.
(, Mon 19 May 2003, 16:05, archived)
# I've had no replies
as yet.
(, Mon 19 May 2003, 16:08, archived)
# I just replied
if that's what you meant. All this messaging and whatnot confuses me somewhat.
(, Mon 19 May 2003, 16:14, archived)
# Bless him,
Good cd by the way.
