Lets go all "Barthes" as my Media lecturer used to say.
There is a signifier in the text hinting that someone has been axed. In the main pic, there is a sign as to who that was, as Noakes is no longer there, and has been replaced with a cardboard copy.

Anyone else read Mythologies by R Barthes? Got run over by a milkfloat, apparently.
