But don't allow yourself to meet past regenerations. A universally cataclysmic disaster will rip space and time to pieces if you, Connery, Moore and that Welsh one meet in the same place!

I just can't remember his name. He was the one before Brosnan.....
(, Tue 11 Nov 2003, 21:11, archived)
so he was... "born in Colwyn Bay, Wales on March 21, 1944. Though Welsh-born, he is of British, Italian, and Irish ancestry. His mother is from the Bronx (New York). He grew up in Manchester, England..."
How's this, from the official timothy dalton homepage:
"Mr. Dalton's personal interpretation and restructuring of the James Bond character in The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill breathed new life into a franchise that had fallen on hard times."
now if that isn't totally at odds with most popular interpretations of his performances, I don't know what is - he almost killed Bond!

he was good, he just had the misfortune to be bond at a period when no-one gave a toss about bond films.
ten times better than moore, anyway

is the best since Connery - but not better than Connery
Brosnan was meant to be Bond instead of Dalton - his contract on Remington Steele was coming to an end, the series was gonna get cancelled, and he got the call... the news of him getting the call meant Remington Steele got better viewing figures, so his contract got re-upped without him being able to stop it, and he lost his first chance at Bondhood

It's just his real life persona I find objectionable. There seems to be no difference between the Bond character (who is a horrid, arrogant fucker, really) and him in real life.
I've confused myself now. Do you see what I'm getting at?

but it's your own fault really... I find it much simpler to forget they have lives outside the movies

FFS, it had Bond getting married! ok, so it also had Telly Savalas as the bad guy, but even so...

I tend to block the "sensetive" Bonds from memory. Dalton was a Royal cnut!
