"snuff" is when something is really filmed
i.e. a 'snuff' murder film is actually watching someone get murdered on film (not an actor pretending to be dead) that sort of affair.

A snuff movie
Is a film where one or more of the actors was purposley killed FOR the movie.

As a horror movie fan that has seen a lot of underground stuff, I've yet to come across a genuine snuff movie.
