A friend of mine is going blind and he doesn't want to lose the ability to drive (!). Anyway, I have suggested Road Braile for when he can no longer see.
1. Drive a journey and drive with two wheels on the 'catseyes' in the road and count them as you go over them.
2. My friend can count the 'bumps' and drive!!! e.g at 348 bumps turn right...
(There are a few problems with this, but I'm sure we can work them out!)
Any suggestions to help him?

It's to wake truck drivers up when they fall asleep at the wheel

and they can use their sonar or something
i seen a thing on telly years ago about a blind bloke that let his guide dog steer the car while he worked the pedals, i'm pretty sure it was a wind up though

he would have to have a rabies vacination for that.
Also, what languages do bats speak?

drive at a set speed and turn the wheel set angles at set times. eg:
At 60mph drive 60 seconds straight ahead, then turn the wheel 30 degrees left for two seconds, straighten wheel, drive straight ahead for 2 minutes, etc.
It works underwater, so it must work on the roads.

We shall have to practice that in a big car park to start with.
Empty car park......

On a motorway, when it says the turning is in one mile, he counts to sixty and turns the wheel (if he's going 60mph that is, otherwise he can't be arsed cos he can't do maths)

Way!!
He hates them, since they pulled him over 2 years ago for doing 134 mph in his car.
He was busting for a piss whilst on the M5.
