drive at a set speed and turn the wheel set angles at set times. eg:
At 60mph drive 60 seconds straight ahead, then turn the wheel 30 degrees left for two seconds, straighten wheel, drive straight ahead for 2 minutes, etc.
It works underwater, so it must work on the roads.

On a motorway, when it says the turning is in one mile, he counts to sixty and turns the wheel (if he's going 60mph that is, otherwise he can't be arsed cos he can't do maths)
