How on earth do you make text like that? If you're using photoshop, I just can't do it!

to find a similar font, or alter existing text.

I use a program called Serif Photoplus 9. This is the first image I have posted on the board using this software, I used to have Paint Shop Pro but lost it when the last computer's hard disk crashed. Basically it's very similar to PSP, and (IMHO) easier to use than Photoshop.
Basically I created each letter as a separate layer and rotated each one individually, the "B" 20 degrees, through to the "S" none at all. I then repeated the exercise, thus creating a drop shadow. The original text (which said "Steak" btw) was erased by using the clone tool to fill the background.
Sounds tricky? Not really, it only took about 5 minutes.

I guess in this case I just got lucky. Sometimes I will spend ages looking for a font that looks "right". In this case I scrolled quickly down the list and found one called "BATAVIA" - tried it, and it seemed to work.
Once I spent hours looking for a font to fit an image I was working on and in the end I gave up. Some days you is the pigeon, some days you is the statue :o)
