and what of the non-publicly known flaws...

...it's windows server 2003, and it isn't in as widespread use as many other operating systems. The majority of publically known bugs and security features will of course be fix0red immediately, as Billy's still pulling wadges out of his pocket marketing the thing. When Longhorn comes out, 2k3s will take a back seat as new vulnerabilities appear...

as I crank this message out from my linux-running desktop I breathe a sigh of relief to know that the only MS product attached to my b3ta experience is my mouse.
They make damn good mice. And all else crap :)

the keyboards a pretty good too. I own two of each; a normal wheel mouse + internet keyboard for home and the monster wireless professional desktop thingy for work. It's loversome.

You obviously don't know how to use it.

I prefer another OS. Ergo, I must not understand yours.
What a wonderful piece of deductive logic!
Oh wait, my bad. It utter crap.
Windows works fine for me. Linux works great. And I don't have to pay. And it is more secure. And it has much better functionality in many (not all) of the things I use my computer for. And it make me cool to use it.
But hey, you must be right. I guess I jsut don't know how to use it.
Calll me when you get a 100 + day uptime on your heavily-used desktop running windows :)

speaks volumes more than any tedious argument of Windows vs Linux ever could.

nice to see that you two are going to get along just fine...

I agree with.
The second I don't care about.
I use both operating systems and like bits from both. I don't really care who makes something as long as it works most of the time.

while I could present large numbers of reasons why microsoft is evil an etc, I sue them mostly to piss people off.
I don't care about who makes it; I've simply found that linux is easier to use and works better for the things I want to do with my computer.
(, Wed 16 Jun 2004, 9:21, archived)
I'm sorry. I don't get it.
I would assume this is meant to mean that linux takes more time to use than windows. I've found it to be the opposite.
Takes about 20 minutes to setup. Then nothing.
Oh yeah, and I can upgrade to a totally new version (when released) by issuing two commands and walking away.
I spent way more time on crap when I ran windows.
