What sort of person
wears a Speedo to run a marathon anyway?
I'd feel ever so self-concious. :S

Some of them had loose shorts, which were better I thought.

there's nothing finer than the feel of sweaty lycra
on a saunday afternoon

My mother commented that if they drank too much they would have to pee as they ran.
Which put me off a bit, I must say.

Maybe that's the need for the lycra
keeps it all in!
I suppose piss could be used as a type of oilslick to halt other runners!

You don't feel the urge to pee when you're running a marathon
because you sweat so much, your bladder doesn't get a look in. You get to know exactly how much fluid your body needs.

I know what you mean.
It's also a shame that she might lose her sponsorship from club 18-31!
Were there 1831 people in that race? I don't remember seeing them!
