TV works fine without one.
Last time I was visited by an inspector blokey was about six years ago.
I pointed out that it is not an offence to not have a TV licence and he should go forth and multiply.
Went back indoors and discovered I'd missed an important bit of Eastenders.

Which is why keeping details of everyone who does not have a licence contavenes teh Data Protection Act.
The assumption being made is that if you do not have a licence you are commiting a criminal act, whereas there are perfectly legitamate reasons for not having a licence.
(And Yes, Coventry is a bit odd.)

I just like to tell lies to the TV Licencing people.
(I never paid the Poll Tax either, I wrote to my local council and said that I Had no intention of ever keeping Polecats and didn't see why I should subsidise those who do. They left me alone after that))
