# Mr Horse
I had an idea the other day
it's very silly, I just don't know if it's any good:

basically it would be a b3ta sort of 'peter and the wolf', only with memes and with different tunes for each meme. We already have chump manbear, domo kun and sturdy girl to go at, so it wouldn't take too much effort to invent some bizarre plot for them to follow and then give some music to the others...

...but it might be a shit idea. What do you think? ;)

*takes ominous silence as 'it's a shit idea, go home'*
*does so*

# Arf!
It'd be quite cool, but I imagine not an overnight project...
(says the bloke who doesn't seem to finish anything lately)

Edit: Oh, have you gone? Oops.
(, Fri 18 Mar 2005, 17:17, archived)
# I haven't, I was just pondering how daft I'd look if nobody replied ;)
I know it wouldn't be an overnight project, but I don't imagine it would be that hard to do, at least musically.

# I think
The key would be writing a good story to link the pieces.
There's Svenno already too. And I'd want sturdy to be the heroine :)
(, Fri 18 Mar 2005, 17:20, archived)
# I think sturdy would have to be the heroine
because the variation in the noemie provides such fantastic scope for a story
(, Fri 18 Mar 2005, 17:22, archived)
# Ah yes,
the old 29-chord trick. *hurdies gurdy*
(, Fri 18 Mar 2005, 17:23, archived)
# this sounds fun
Domo has to be in it. As some kind of misunderstood poor wee beastie
(, Fri 18 Mar 2005, 17:25, archived)
# domo would be doable
how it was done would depend whether DogHorse keeps the tunes and the vocals separate for the music he does
(, Fri 18 Mar 2005, 17:27, archived)
# Yes I do.
*has ludicrous amount of audio tracks on disc*
(, Fri 18 Mar 2005, 17:29, archived)
# might I be able to borrow some
if I'm going to make a project out of this?

with our proximity I could probably pick them up if they're on disc ;)
(, Fri 18 Mar 2005, 17:30, archived)
# Hehe
I meant hard disK. Easy enough to burn onto CD/DVD though.

# ah
fair enough

# blimey
*secretly wishes he really lived up there*

I'll have a think about how this will go and then get on 4rthur to you about what I'd need to do it then, if that's ok.
I'll try and organise it so there's a minimum of stuff you'd need to do!
(, Fri 18 Mar 2005, 17:38, archived)
# Cool.
I'm off to prepare to RAWK in Barnsley. Catch you later.

# have fun :)

# the unfortunate thing is
that it'd probably end up as a 20mb mp3 and no bugger would be able to host it ;)
(, Fri 18 Mar 2005, 17:26, archived)
# i'll host it
yus

slight @ [the domain linked in my profile]

bandwidth?
we got lumps of it out the back!

# thanks for the offer
though the project's still in its conceptual stage at the moment
(, Fri 18 Mar 2005, 17:51, archived)
# i noticed :)
just thought i'd mention it.

i'm on a mission to make good use of all the excess bandwidth i have lying around.

# If he's nicking pics....
....why not just sue?
(, Fri 18 Mar 2005, 17:16, archived)
# because we nicked the source pics
in the first place ;)
(, Fri 18 Mar 2005, 17:17, archived)
# I don't know if that matters
you can legally take a songs melody if you're satiring it. And I bet collage artists don't get busted for all the source pics they use.

It's at least worth a look into.
(, Fri 18 Mar 2005, 17:19, archived)
# Ah no.
You engaged in satire. That's not the same as plagiarism.
(, Fri 18 Mar 2005, 17:19, archived)
# i think it's a bit of a legal grey area in the uk
as when something obviously new has been created that also has copyright on it (lots of stuff about how much it's been changed is relevent here, have had a few chats to our resident copyright expert* about it all)

also some are unequivocally original (Sunshine Elephant comes to mind) and other use own photos or public domain images (about 50% of mine come to mind, a fair percentage of mine come from sources that are free to use non-commercially)

just choosing your post to make the points really mushroom, as i suspect both your and hm's comments will be repeated over the next week
