now here comes my explanation so young brown cow can calm down a little.

this is an internet messageboard. the things you see here are small blue "names" with text next to them.

what people need to realize is that not everything that text says is true. for instance, even the most ludicrously ridiculous and obviously untrue "insults" (id est "you fucking asian" or "you have skinny wrists and a high-pitched, grating voice" [to zyk0tik]) may in fact, be untrue.

the humor of these comes into play when they are taken seriously; so that what is entirely in jest is presumed to be a serious attack upon one's internet character from an anonymous internet non-person, and is counter-acted with serious insults (id est, "xenophobe").

[edit: realize also the sadness of having a personal reaction to a small bit of text on a messageboard. look away from the monitor for a minute, realize that you're a person in the real world and that you should feel good about yourself. and if you still decide to be offended by text, then i will chuckle quietly for a second or two.]
