...to find out why their computers weren't working.
Not strictly compo but that's what I think would really happen.

The power went out at my workplace last night.
Which is a rest home with an emergency alarm system powered by a backup generator.
Cue about 28 different sirens for "emergencies" in everyone's rooms, as they lose their beloved televisions.

the BT lines are powered from the exchange and subs,
but if you're digital, then you're powered within the building so you borked

this is the reason I keep an old handset
in the cupboard..
coz if the power goes, our fancy dect phones are as useful as a paperweight.

and then having to reset 500 user extensions with all their voicemail and divert settings.
