# no, this one's a designer
i make things look pretty for a reason, and the only reason people use comic sans is clarity for primary school teaching and church newsletters, because it's insanely inoffensive, making it the single most offensive font on the planet.
*raising fists in Marquis of Queensbury Rules fashion*

# I always look at
like this:

At least its a hell of a lot better than that Script font that people used to use all the time.

# We use Sassoon for primary school stuff, mostly.
And for a comic-book style font, I like Blambot's Letter-o-matic :
(, Mon 15 Aug 2005, 17:34, archived)
# I think it's
probably just that it's the worst of the windows fonts that most PC owners have. Therefor Colin Hunt type characters searching for a 'lively' typeface for an internal memo always plump for it.

There are worse fonts, but you have to make the effort to download them.
(, Mon 15 Aug 2005, 12:48, archived)
# I don't particularly have any feelings on it
apart from its overuse.

Constable: "Admiring it? Why that's Comic Sans. You're nicked sonny."

# I think it got a bit far last year
when I refused to accept posters from students in my class if they had used Comic Sans.

I got around it by saying "it looks childish and I want work that looks professional".
(, Mon 15 Aug 2005, 13:10, archived)
# Fail them!!
Fail them at IT (isn't it ICT nowadays? am getting old) if they use Times New Roman 'cos it just means they can't change the default font :P I always had my work in Book Antiqua, never fails to get me more marks that.

# Everything about the unprofessionalism
(the word "comic" in its name should indicate its unsuitability for anything serious) already mentioned, plus...

FUCKING EXPERTS KEEP INISTING THAT EXAM PAPERS AND NOTES SHOULD USE IT TO HELP THE DYSLEXIC STUDENTS. The thing is, if you actually *ask* any said dyslexic students, they find it *harder* to read than the likes of Times or Helvetica.

So nothing is wrong with Comic Sans. The problem is with the fucktards who use it for things other than comics.
