Waaaaaaah
I don't get it. I need a geek to explain!

The long running debate:
If an irresistible force hits an immovable object what happens?

Right
I got that bit. But what's with the unusual hand gestures? It's not normal rock-scissors-paper...

Er,
I couldn't find the "official" hand gesture for irresistible force
or unmovable object...so I just made 'em up :¬)

i always though the answer was just that neither could exist?

Ian Banks reckons
the immoveable object moves and the unstoppable force stops.
but what does he know

what if they are on a smooth slope (no friction), and the unstoppable force has an initial velocity of 0.002m/s towards the immovable object?
the slope is at 4 degrees, and you can take acceleration due to gravity to be 9.8ms
2?

it`s theoretical!
edit: also the distance between the two is 4m, and the immovable object is at the bottom of the slope*
*I`m sure there`s a technical term for "at the bottom of the slope"... at the slope`s anus or something

you seem to be suggesting the force act through an object
the object with the force acting through it would just deform if the resistence of the immovable object was so high

not exactly
a universe in which an unstobbable force exists is, by definition, a universe in which an immovable object cannot exist. and vice versa.
