so I hope this hasn't been done yet

I'd suggest someone make a flash game, but the lack of shapes would make it so you'd just get line after line after line... maybe if you made a columns style game with coloured cars that you could slot vertically or horizontally. 3 or more adjacent cars of the same colour disappear...

overhanging cars would have to snap in half and half of it drop, but thats still not a problem. Just count in half cars... maybe 5 or more half cars will disappear.

I can't do flash, but if i was going to program it in C, you'd just need to write a basic columns game, but drop cars that are two "grid elements" in size, but all the same colour. Just an idea.

would be the same colour, obviously. A columns game where all the parts are the same colour would be just as easy as the original tetris idea.

crazy antics.
We haven't had any of his archive links for a while now... :(

but I can't do flash, and I don't code for windows or mac(1), somewhat limiting my audience. I could do it in blitz basic for windows, but i don't have the full version, so to play it you'd need Blitz Basic, too.
(1)Thats don't, not can't, btw. I hate programming for windows, even though i've had to do it many times in the course of my work, and I don't do macs.

Lets ask Menub, he seems to be the board Flash whore.

you could make the cars be bad hack jobs made form odds and ends of other cars, that are half painted with and fall apart in the middle anyway, a la Dr. Mario.

Dr. Mario is essentially what i'm getting at, but with underwater cars. I'm not sure the cars should be cut and shuts from the very beginning, though...
(, Mon 16 Dec 2002, 14:55, archived)
how about start with whole cars, then move to crappier ones. they could even eventually start falling apart on their own... like real cars do.

in Flash, if you want, now I'm all settled, I could design the cars for you, all pixelly like.
Just let me know what you need and stuff.

skills are poor to say the least.
I can't make games, not yet anyway!

I think Dr. Mario is the perfect model for this game. You could have the stricken boat at the top as well, haemorraging cars at an increasing rate.

I don't know... but if someone doesn't do it, i might just explode and cover the room with my innards.
If only all you people had Amiga's, it would probably only take me an afternoon of tinkering.

doesn't quite provide the tools required to do a Dr. Mario clone i'm afraid :)
FACT TIME: SEUCK was one of the very few programs to actually be better on the C64 than on the Amiga.
