it used to shoot little plastic cars at great speed accross the floor,until you worked out that by taping up the safety catch in the bottom, you could shoot them at anything, i have the scars to prove it, so does my brother.

I had to build my lethal weapons out of Lego and elastic bands.
Mind you, I did get it powerful enough to actually crack Lego bricks if you fired them at the wall.

that reminds me of a toy that i had as a kid.
it was a gun shaped like the starhip enterprise and it fired spinning orange plastic disks.
it fired them really fast and hard - hard enough to break other children's teeth*.
*and bust lips etc

I did it to someone in a queue for a movie once. They thought they'd been bitten by some kind of bug and had a big panic attack.

it would shoot out anything that would fit in the end of it.
so I shot him with a cotton bud (cotton removed from one end) from about 1m away and it went right through his hand.in that bit of skin between the thumb and index finger.

It still works.
A bunch of us used to put on jackets and a sub-aqua mask each and have shootouts with these things. Great fun!

and used the pellets, the darts, corks, bits of twig, matchsticks, blu-tack, cotton wool, anything we could get our hands on.
We were dangerous little bastards, I'm so surprised none of us got seriously injured.

i pity young people now, they have no idea how to have 'harmless' fun. if one of us didn't at least crack our heads open once a week something was wrong.and when you got told off you stopped doing whatever it was( for a bit ) with no backchat.
