I went to Iceland once. All cold desert and fish for dinner. Parliament run by corrupt sheep farmers. No alcohol. Lots of waterfalls. Sun shine in the middle of the night. Hot springs and cold skies. Rough volcanic mountains and fissures.

sometimes a volcano erupts under the ice
and the melt water builds up for weeks before escaping in colossal floods. It's very exciting

I had a flight out of selfoss in a miniature plane. We landed on the westmann islands on a cross shaped pair of runways and narrowly missed a plane coming down the other runway.
