# the classic single man shopping basket
:- microwave meal for 1/pizza
4 stellas
bog roll
bread
doritos and dip

I have often felt the need to fill my basket with other items to disguise how fookin sad i am. for some reason putting fruit in makes me feel better. though i still cant go to a check out with a young girl on cos they just look at you with a sneer. its worse if i feel compelled to buy some super noodles for late night snacking.

# oh how true
It always makes me laugh to see men on ther own shopping, they look like lost little sheep!

# thanksfully my flat mate does most of the shopping these days
so my traumas are less. the worst time i had was ni sainsburys in glasgow when i was preparing for a night in with footbah on telly. i purchased a microwave meal, 6 stellas, and some doritos and dip. i had to find a checkout with a lad on. when he served me he proceeded to boom that it looked like i had a crackng night in planned. i could almost feel the titters and sneers from all the ladies in the vicinity. i wish id told him to 'fuck off', but i didnt. i just left with my head held low....

# fudgin' cnut!
a quick retort of "at least I'm not a check-out slut" should have been in order.

# i know
but at the time i just wanted to get my plastic bag and disappear into the rainy night. he did actually say after hed said it 'i only say that cos id be buying the same'. which was his pathetic attempt at making me feel better i think. as if i want to compare my life to a 'check out slut' as you put it. made it all the more depressing. and then the footbah match was shit. which made for a shit night all round really. *im not mentally scarred by this episode, honest*
