it just tried to print it.....
am I doing something really simple wrong?

are you clicking the "print" button
or pressing the print screen button on your keyboard? do the latter...

yeah
it just copies whatever is on the screen to the clipboard. If you do alt-printscreen it just copies the current window, doesn't matter what the window is...

It's
a windoze thing. Print Screen captures the whole desktop, Alt+Print Screen captures the current window.
