convert layer to match to CMYK
fanny around with curves and colour balance.
it sometimes helps to auto-colour the background. beyond that, i'm a bit stuck i'm afraid. i can't do it consistently so there may be a nack.

unfortunately fannying around is the only way i can do it
i've not got a copy of PS here to remind me what to do. autolovels works well to start with, it removes filters and the like (sort of), a fainl photofilter can really help as well.

I think one of the recent PhotoshopTVs had something
about using curves to help with this sort of thing.
You can choose highlight and shadow colours from the background picture to re-colour your blokey's face.
