# what are the main differences between 'the gimp'
and 'gimpshop'

# gimp v gimpshop
no functionality that i'm aware. of gimp has been around for ages, it's getting some nice features now, and theres some half measures for CMYK..

gimp shop is just a photoshop like interface to it as far as i know... which means that it will consume a whole screen rather than just part of it... check it out though mate, its free and snappy...

# meh
i'm too used to my old version of photoshop

# thats fine...
... providing you actually bought it :-)

i prefer the gimp since it's constantly evolving. photoshop holds back a bit since they want to have features that make the next version sought after.

# i didnt think there was one.
I thought gimpshop was a cool way of comparing Gimp to Photoshop. Ya know, kind of like comparing a chocolate mousse to a 'rotten apple'-scented runny dog turd.
