The "Most Haunted" Team came down a few years ago to the local Military Museum where I used to work,
and is virtually on my back door location-wise, and
which shall remain nameless for now. The whole crew went back and decided that they had contacted
Douglas Bader himself, even though the chap they were trying to contact, my old boss, had never
even known him (although they said he did)
up came the subtitles for the viewers who didn't know who Douglas Bader was...
Would it be a dashing tribute to his fighter pilot days,
how his bravery and heroism kept allied forces inspired?
No.
The subtitle simple read:
Derek has contacted Douglas Bader... Famous for his tin legs.

I've not been to the museum yet, despite it only being a short stroll. Is it worth having a look at?

it's the largest private collection in the country, and can happily kill a couple of hours or so if you like that sort of thing

who lost both his legs when showing off to his mates he accidentally crashed his plane. Despite this he was still a Squadron Leader during the Battle of Britain, which was pretty remarkable considering, and his single minded bravery made him a big hero. His false legs were made of tin, but didn't have any knees for some reason.
