It's fab, if you take it out of the context of the film
it's a really literate and cutting satire of...oh bollocks, it's got nice 'chucka-chucka' bits.

I've not seen the film
is that why I like the song?
(
Mushroom, Fri 10 Aug 2007, 14:22,
archived)
no, the film's wonderful
it's just that...well, it's like seeing a film then reading the book - it's impossible not to picture anne bancroft now when i hear the song, which makes it a bit less great just because it puts someone else's pictures in your head.

Blimey! Although I do hate hendrix and the beatles.

I can see how if you don't like the sound of Hendrix, then you wouldn't like any of his stuff. But people who claim to hate the Beatles confuse me a bit - it's like claiming to hate food, i'm like..."what, ALL of it? But it's all so different..." o_O

I can apreciate the beatles as musicians,
John and Paul are excellent musicians, I cant get into their music. I just don't get alot of it, I find it uninspiring and bland. Something that also put me off was the hype about them at music college, and all the band that are ripping them off.
Hendrix I found to be not that interesting. Before i started listening to hendrix I had already been listening to alot of blues and jazz, and i saw alot of stuff hendrix did had been done.
