# seriously
it's like you guys just *want* manley to call you cunts ;)

# If a cat jumps from a plane when no-one's looking
will he make a sound when he hits the ground?

# *asplodes*
Fuck this, I'm taking micto's advice and coming back, well probably next week - all of us have got around 300 images we could pea for this clearly basic compo, so it's likely that we'll get more threads than I can shake a stick at.

Wankers.

# it's like this every wednesday though
it usually peters out around thursday-ish
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:36, archived)
# No, I'm still here
Oh, I see what you mean
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:39, archived)
# though admittedly a large percentage of these so far have been 'lol animal' pics
and not what animals could be doing when nobody is looking

particularly the reposts...
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:39, archived)
# it's worse this week though
cos the compo's been done before, so everyone is just reposting their entries from last time, plus people just don't seem to be able to repost in an existing thread
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:41, archived)
# hahahaha
only about 10k users had signed up when this compo was last run

I think the problem is more with people reposting any picture that has an animal in whether it fits the challenge or not, than reposting entries from the old challenge
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:43, archived)
# ^this^
All reposts should be done in the initial announcement thread - like what I dun ;)
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:45, archived)
# now that's something I'd like to see
it would easily beat the enormous hippo thread :)
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:47, archived)
# ah
wouldn't beat this though :P
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:48, archived)
# 4160px! wow!
but I was talking about the number of pictures :P
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:51, archived)
# I thought you meant number of replies

# having seen that a long image,
here's one even longer
(hosting site is VERY NSFW, 'twas the only copy I could find via google)
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 23:01, archived)
# or in the thread of a new entry
instead of just using the compo as an excuse to touch some ham
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:48, archived)
# I'm a 5ker
but I didn't post much in the early days.
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:48, archived)
# same
I think I made a total of 14 posts in the first 6 months I was signed up, heh
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:50, archived)
# I'm sure people wouldn't do that.

# Manley....
You run out of weed?

[edit: Actually, I've read some of your arguments further down the board. I think you've smoked to much... keep it up man.

# It's no big deal.
It runs out of steam by late tomorrow. Just spend the time making something nice.

# this
there is more to your keyboard than the F5 button
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:42, archived)
# It's a helluva lot of kittens and squirrels
doing things. Nowt wrong with it but maybe we could have a no-repost rule for compos? They're meant to inspire creativity and it'd be a shame if new stuff got lost within the already-seens.
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:38, archived)
# Well in all seriousness
perhaps there should be an option in profiles to hide all compo entries on the main board. I wouldn't use it personally, but I'm sure there are people who would, and they could look at the entries on the compo pages if they wanted.
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:40, archived)
# Good idea.
I have to say, I'd use it - saves being bombarded, and I can view the entries in my own time (ie, work paid time)
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:42, archived)
# hahahahah

(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:44, archived)
# Haha
get paid for looking at them eh? That sounds like a plan :)
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:44, archived)
# I'm surprised someone hasn't written a firefox extension to do that already

(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:43, archived)
# If there was a way to disqualify compo entries
for being reposts or starting a new thread?

edit: that wasn't a sentence. Sorry, I was just thinking aloud.
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:40, archived)
# Would be nice
But can you imagine this lot paying any attention to rules? :)
I save new stuff until nearer the weekend...

# No offence to this top image-magicing.
but is every fucking picture ever posted on b3ta involving animals going to get pearoasted in this compo?
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:40, archived)
# just the ones where the animal is doing something or other
i think I've got mine out of the way now
(, Wed 5 Sep 2007, 22:51, archived)
# The dolphin/whale one was most woo
