I still wish I'd kept a copy of the special pull out and keep special colour glossy that came with The News of The World (I think it was) on the day of her death.

I still remember the day she died
We still had the last Sunday's paper on the kitchen table. It was open at a double page spread of her and Dodi on a yacht, and the headline ran something like 'Bitch Queen Princess and Betrayer of Our Charlie'

I remember...
student days, houseful... and my mum.

She'd come up and we got her stoned.
She spent an hour that morning thinking it was all an elaborate hoax to freak her out.

We were students, we didn't put that much effort into ANYTHING

I'm
regretting not buying the First Editions of newspapers from the garage that said she wasn't dead. I was coming back from our usual sunday McDonalds breakfast (of champions, a thinly disguised atempt to get away from my loony mother for a bit). They pulled them all soon after and had them sent back.

I bought a selection of all the papers that morning
I had some sense it was going to be a big thing, which is odd because I wasn't even really aware of the woman back then!

God knows what happened to them though, got lost somewhere along the way

Well, aged 12 it didn't really matter to me. I was more irritated that I lost two days of television, one when she died and the second for the funeral. Seeing as it ws the weekend, I was a bit miffed.

I feel your pain
I was in America at the time, and had lots of americans coming up to me and saying "I was so sorry to hear Diana died"

I felt like saying "I'm not because she was a neurotic horse faced idiot with more money than sense".

Heowever I'm too polite for that and just smiled and nodded incredulously.
