*sigh*
I remember them.
My Walkman minidisc player was one of the best pieces of portable music kit I ever owned.

It didn't surprise me they never took off
People like to have something fairly substantial to own. Thats why vinyl is still going.

Yep.
I never bought any pre-recorded minidiscs. I just bought the CDs and bunged them onto minidisc to listen to while I was out.

Ahhh, that makes sense
I was fortunate enough to have a massively cool and still-functioning walkman. My first sony! It's gorgeous.

I would have bought one (when they were still relevant)
if only you could buy a portable one with digital in AND out.
Sony cocked that up because they were so afraid of people copying their music. the only MD recorders with digital I/O were non-portable and very expensive.

hahahaha. This being said however, his mildly irritating but actually quite funny friend Alan Carr has recently made me *rofl* with this:
"Have you seen those Smart Cars? F*cking hell, you wouldn't even take one of them on
Robot Wars. They come with a sticker in the back: 'My other car's a Dyson'".
