Yes, most newer horns have very small spit valves, but they are not near the large end of the horn.

Upright tubas are often called raincatchers.

(BTW, I still have a few "Spit Happens" tuba bumper stickers I made about 20 years ago, but the glue does not work very well.)

b3ta has made my brain very happy/confused/entertained/etc for so many years and I stand in slack-jawed awe at so many of the great things so many of you all have done!

if only there was some way to let people see it on their computers or something....
