# I've really not been following that story
so know even less than most people who have had access to all the gossip and counter smear campaigns...but I really can't stand that woman.

You were (very briefly) married to someone rich, that doesn't give you some sudden right to be rich yourself even after you've fucked off.
24 million love, stop whinging.

# "i don't want the ruling to be made public because i want to protect my daughter"
nothing to do with the Judge more or less calling you a liar then?

# It's the fact that
no charitable contributions show up on her Tax Returns at all. Despite her saying that 80-90% of all her income goes to charities that I want to see investigated.
Either she's involved in a massive tax scam or worse, making promises to charities (which she uses for her own positive image profile building, flying round the world etc) which she isn't keeping
(, Wed 19 Mar 2008, 9:23, archived)
# i guess that'd be the 80-90% of her income that came straight out of Paul's pocket then
check his tax returns instead :D

# I was slightly disturbed by a couple of youtube videos of her interviews
the one on gmtv makes her seem cold and insane, and her pretend crying is laughable.
A channel 5 interview then makes her look completely clueless and in my opinion, has a bad effect on the image of environmental charities. She claimed the 18% of global warming is caused by deforestation and livestock... that's some intriguing maths, if only global warming could actually be quantised in such a manner.
(, Wed 19 Mar 2008, 9:28, archived)
# ^^^this
ill be willing to bet that in a month or so she will cancel her charitble commitments due to her image being tarnsihed by the media and it would be bringing bad publicity to said charities. or some such shit.
(, Wed 19 Mar 2008, 9:29, archived)
# If I was one of the charities she's represented
I'd be demanded a serious investigation this morning.
(, Wed 19 Mar 2008, 9:32, archived)
# Why must it always be a serious investigation?
I'd be demanding an irreverantly humourous investigation.

# I'm terrified that she considers it absolutely necessary to have 6 million a year from paul for her and her daughter
the price of Weetabix and Barbies must have gone up since I left the country.

# I havent listened to radio 1 in years
and german radio is actually quite good, lots of older stuff, not so much shite from talent shows.

Edit: and I hate all radio edits, whether is swearing, solos or song length that are cut.

# it drives me potty when i tell people
that such and such (leona lewis) is crap and they say they're a talented musician who worked hard. and radio 1, yeah i listen to it it can be funny at times. virgin radio is quite good too, so all is good

# i can't fucking stand her
her financial demands are just mind boggling.

£40k a year for wine for example. She doesn't drink.

And £600k a year for her "charity work". How does that make any sense?
(, Wed 19 Mar 2008, 9:24, archived)
# Charity begins at home...
(, Wed 19 Mar 2008, 9:24, archived)
# don't be silly
wine isn't for drinking, it's for storing in your wine cellar so it goes dusty
(, Wed 19 Mar 2008, 9:27, archived)
# shit, i've been doing it all wrong!
no wonder I keep waking up with a headache
(, Wed 19 Mar 2008, 9:30, archived)
# This is 'cos of an odd part of divorce legislation
It requires that children should be unable to differentiate between the lifestyles of their parents as a result of financial impediment.

So if Paul spends that much on wine, she should be able to.

(I'm not defending her, I think she needs a good long spell in an institution)
(, Wed 19 Mar 2008, 9:39, archived)
# to be fair, paul got off fucking lightly
he did bloody better than i did, he should have had to give her 75% like any working man would have done, oh and the house, and 20% min of his future earnings
(, Wed 19 Mar 2008, 9:28, archived)

# I usddenly understand
why people kill their exes.
(, Wed 19 Mar 2008, 9:33, archived)
# I don't get why that's the case at all
Those rules were designed to support someone left without an income, and more if you had children, back when women didn't actually work.

Split joint possessions, maybe even enter consideration for earnings that were only possible because of the other person, but once you're divorced then you're not each others responsibilitiy anymore, why should you be paying?

Everyone can earn their own wage these days, I fucking hate sponging culture and wish they'd drag outdated laws into modern times/reality.
(, Wed 19 Mar 2008, 9:34, archived)
# it is supposed to start at 50/50
from my experiance if you get 30% as a man you have done well, i do have children and do pay towards their upkeep, but 25% of my earnings seems like alot, but then i could not afford a lawyer, she could as the judge decided to award her all costs, great
(, Wed 19 Mar 2008, 9:37, archived)
# :( I'm sorry mate
My missus got his divorce formally through court today but thankfully all it took was for him to agree that he had been unfaithful (which very much wasn't the reason for the split, or even true) to let her divorce HIM, and he doesn't have kids.

Infact I would calculate that she actually owes him, but he's much too nice a guy to chase stupid shit like that up. She was after all heartbroken when he left and had to wait a good couple of months before getting herself a new beau to diss him to.
(, Wed 19 Mar 2008, 9:46, archived)
# ah fuck it, i like bitter :)
(, Wed 19 Mar 2008, 9:54, archived)
# This has done his PR a world of good though
He's no fucking saint.

So one money grabbing fucker has got some money off another money grabbing fucker.

FACTIOD: when Paul found out Linda had six months to live to made her move all her business interests to America so he wouldn't have to pay inheritance tax when she died.

What a nice thing to be thinking about when you're wife's terminally ill
(, Wed 19 Mar 2008, 9:41, archived)
# he wouldn't have got a sausage out of her otherwise
(, Wed 19 Mar 2008, 9:45, archived)
# ha ha

# Hahaha
(, Wed 19 Mar 2008, 9:50, archived)
# MADE her?
That's shocking if true, but if I was going to die I would do anything I could to get around inheritance tax. It makes me so angry I could cry sometimes.

No-one has ever given me a proper explanation for why the government can legally take such a massive chunk of someones money that they have already paid tax on all their life. It's criminal and yet another example of accepted traditions/laws never being questioned in the harsh light of reality.
