To get to human eggs, you have to cut someone up. People don't like being cut up.
It's quite possible that research with embryos could have benefits in terms of curing disease.
I'm not an expert, but so many Scientists wouldn't be doing this for no reason. They'll be doing it because they suspect it'll help people.
This is supposed to be a way to provide a viable and more ethical source for this research.
