Well, it's not from me
A friend of mine works for a department in the local council and they need a website done. But, because councils haven't a scooby about the time and effort it takes to put together a website, they've allocated £10k for this department and their website.

Moral of the story, start whoring your services to your local council.

Edit: This was about two months ago so they've probably got someone now. But the premise still stands.

My boss also doesn't understand the web business, despite running a web design agency. So he gives us unreasonable deadlines, promises the customers stuff we can't actually deliver and then forwards their complaints on to me when everything inevitably goes tits up!
