The shooting and riding type experience stuff was okay, the eating and working out was rather pointless as you had to keep constantly maintaining it.
Although nowhere near as annoying as the fucking friends shit in GTA4.

You basically have to take every 'friend' you meet out to go bowling every fucking time they phone you.

Essentially like the dates in GTA:SA except with fucking everyone and you basically have to keep doing them.
