It's not really different to the book.

The tone of the Kubrick film is more bleak and nihilistic, and the ending is more downbeat and ambiguous, but the bulk of the story is similar.

Interesting that Stephen King didn't like Kubrick's adaptation of his work. This proves that King is a fool, because it's one of the rare instances of a film adaptation being better than the book.

# Stephen King.
man what a star, boy can that man write, and write. He can't finish a book to save his life so relies on the same old formulaic shite to bring it to a conclusion. If you want a man to write 3000 pages then he's your man, just don't expect them to actually be going anywhere.

# Blink.
Officially the scariest of the new Doctor Who episode. Ever.
(, Mon 28 Jul 2008, 0:43, archived)
# Ah, now "Blink" was a great episode of Doctor Who.
Kids' TV it may be, but that was a well written and produced piece of popular science fiction.

# I quite enjoyed his book when I was 13.
All 259 of them.

# I have only ever read one of his books.
From a Buick 8. I thought it was one of the best books I had ever read, until the last 5 or so chapters :(

or reading the book.

I'm reading The Kite Runner at the moment. You can't say I don't have my finger on the pulse of popular culture five years ago!

# You should really read it!
It is brilliant!

As is The Lovely Bones!

I am currently reading the autobiography of Leroy "Nicky" Barnes. That is a great read too :)
