tazoswere plastic and given out with walkers. you could use the little indentations to build things with them. The name (i think) came from the fact they were all warner bros characters, and the ones with Taz on were only available from doritos bags (or mail order). they got a bit shit when they brought out a new special series every three months so you had to be a fat bastard in order to get all 50.
Tazos were replaced by (reaches over to far side of room to pick one up) Qubix in 1999 to celebrate the forthcoming millenium (a year early of course) these square shaped pieces of plastic formed 4 3 x 3 murals which then snapped together to make one 6 x 6 and could also be folded into cubes, or stacked like tazos
