# angry cock, hmm.
You know if it were anyone else, it would have been bindun, then a reply bandwagon with that and then gone.

Sorry there fellow, I feel it may get rough somewhere
(, Sat 13 Dec 2008, 18:38, archived)
# Okay, but now do something funny instead

I mean, it's not even magenta

# pic doesnt really merit a comment, but....
b3ta logic is incredible. :)
make a joke about the parents of a missing girl covering up their evil deeds = lol
spunking on a cloth cat = OMGDAILYMAILOUTRAGE!
(, Sat 13 Dec 2008, 18:44, archived)
# Not really it's more at the fact that he/she/it is not clever enough to read what the compo was.

(, Sat 13 Dec 2008, 18:45, archived)
# and it's bindun a couple of times before.

(, Sat 13 Dec 2008, 18:49, archived)
# well you've got to have standards, haven't you?

# In all the years I've been at b3ta
I've learnt that logic never really comes into any of it. I think it's more down to the intent (mostly presumed/assumed) behind a post rather than the post itself.
(, Sat 13 Dec 2008, 18:49, archived)
# Good analysis.

(, Sat 13 Dec 2008, 18:50, archived)
# True.
This is also why new people get a harder time than regulars when they post near-the-knuckle stuff, because it's much easier to presume what the intent was if someone's been around for years.
(, Sat 13 Dec 2008, 18:53, archived)
# same with anywhere really
i know /talk go on about cliques on here, but the same applies over there. if regular started a new thread with an inane comment, they'd assume he was just having a laugh and join in; if a new person did it, he'd get told to fuck off
(, Sat 13 Dec 2008, 18:57, archived)
# I popped over there a couple of weeks ago
to join in the fun and see how many of the old skool were still alive and I was told to fuck off back to /main board - which was nice.
(, Sat 13 Dec 2008, 19:02, archived)
# absolutely
probably why some many noobs go through the baptism of fire - which I'm sure we have all gone through. It is a little unfair I know so my only words of advice for the L-Platers is to post fluffy kittens shops at the start and gradually bring in the hard stuff once you're settled.
(, Sat 13 Dec 2008, 18:57, archived)
# this is precisely the tack happytoast took:
www.b3ta.com/board/5814536
and it seems to have worked out alright for him
(, Sat 13 Dec 2008, 19:05, archived)
# See there is a man who can appeal the crowds
If Hitler had started his idea of World Dictatorship to the Fatherland with a kittenshop we'd all be Nazis today!
(, Sat 13 Dec 2008, 19:08, archived)
# I like your progression . . . kittens to hard stuff . . .
got me gigglin' !
(, Sat 13 Dec 2008, 19:05, archived)
# It is to some extent the same as social situations anywhere.
An old friend might be cajoled with "you daft cunt" said with some affection, try it with someone you don't know and the effect is often different. Taking away cues of inflection and expression makes it more pronounced.
(, Sat 13 Dec 2008, 19:09, archived)
# That nicely illustrates why emoticons and smileys are so popular on the internet,
it's a handy shorthand to replace the inflection and body language that would otherwise inform everyone's interpretation.

Saying that, I refuse to use them. Fuck it, if anyone can't understand the fact that I'm joking without me going SEMICOLON BRACKET at the end of it, it's their problem.
(, Sat 13 Dec 2008, 19:16, archived)
# imagine if swift had sprinkled
smilies and LOLs throughout 'a modest proposal'.
actually, i'd like to see that
(, Sat 13 Dec 2008, 19:22, archived)
# ^this^

(, Sat 13 Dec 2008, 18:51, archived)
# ya...
...think?!
(, Sat 13 Dec 2008, 18:48, archived)
# OMG
you have offended me, my family, the remaining Postgates and everyone else I feel I must show this to in my outrage.
