# Ha!
How silly!

EDIT: Also, has anyone else heard that Gran Torino advert on the radio? Am I the only one who keeps imagining Clint Eastwood as having a west country accent at the end of it, saying Get Off My Lawn!
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 8:57, archived)
# seen the trailer for that
looks a cool film

I want to see it
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:05, archived)
# I saw some good write ups for it.
I don't think I have ever seen a Clint Eastwood film before though.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:07, archived)
# I watched my first the other day
Escape from Alcatraz. Very good it was too (plus i realised where Prison Break got all of its clever ideas from).
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:11, archived)
# Mystic River is worth looking at.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:13, archived)
# Oh,
I have seen that! Don't really remember it though, I was drunk when I watched it.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:16, archived)
# wow..really?
so many corkin' films

For a Few Dollars More, The Outlaw Josey Wales, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, Kelly's Heroes..the list goes on :)
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:15, archived)
# I dunno.
There are a lot of films I have never seen, just never really got round to them. Don't really think they are overly my thing.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:17, archived)
# I saw Deathnote II the other night
that was pretty cool in a sort of just stumbled across it at 2 in the morning sort of way
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:24, archived)
# Never heard of it.
But I have been watching the old Jackie Chan movies recently on 5. They are so wonderfully terrible :D
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:25, archived)
# it's a Japanese ... (or Korean(??)) film
pretty damned good actually.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:30, archived)
# Fair enough.
I shall keep an eye out for it.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:33, archived)
# The Outlaw Josey Wales
One of my favourite films of all time.

Chief Dan George is a star!

(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:20, archived)
# unforgiven is in my top ten
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:27, archived)
# you and your crazy crazy filmicular habits
how can you not have seen any of the, frankly, exceptional westerns he did?

get thee to play cot dom now!
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:16, archived)
# Ha!
Not really a western fan.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:18, archived)
# you don't need to be
you just need to be alive to enjoy The Good The Bad and The Ugly... and Every Which Way But Loose should be on the b3ta compulsory viewing list
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:20, archived)
# Oh yeah.
I have seen Every Which Way and Any which way you can, but not since I was very young. I do get the feeling with a lot of these "classic" films that if you didn't see them when you were young, they kind of lose their impact.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:24, archived)
# completely
I'm, going to get a T Shirt which says "don't watch Spaceballs again"

it made me want to cry. A true classic should stand the test of time though...
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:25, archived)
# What the hell are you on about?
Spaceballs still rocks!

*in my mind*
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:27, archived)
# hmmm
I think we've reached a parting of the ways - I foresee irreconcilable differences of opinion
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:32, archived)
# Arf!
As I said, it is probably because I watched it so much when I was younger. I haven't actually watched it that recently.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:34, archived)
# my advice is don't
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:36, archived)
# My advice is,
SHUT THE HELL UP! YOU'RE RUINING THE WORLD! ;)
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:44, archived)
# ^ haha
to be honest it really wasn't that good the first time either, don't get me wrong it has it's moments..

*looks away..looks back at camera*
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:29, archived)
# *kills in the face*
;)

To be honest, it is no Airplane or Airplane II!
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:31, archived)
# or Young Frankenstein
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:33, archived)
# Cor!
Now that was a film!
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:34, archived)
# you don't under a rock do you? you live 38 foot beneath a rock in a fully stocked fall out shelter with no TV!
how have you never seen Unforgiven, Fistful of Dollars or Dirty Harry?

(hello redsushi and b3ta, hands up if you've got a weird guiness hangover)
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:26, archived)
# at $5.50 per pint I couldn't afford one. :(
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:27, archived)
# ouch... ithink i over spent last night... i'm not looking in my wallet till i'mcertain i won't cry
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:32, archived)
# Isn't that only about 17p?
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:33, archived)
# £2.61 :(
and besides, I don't have $70 to put into a hangover.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:35, archived)
# 2.61? That's cheap mate!
My local charges 3.40!
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:37, archived)
# you've gotta be shitting me.
$5.50 per pint is pretty expensive. (for a pitifully poor student)
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:38, archived)
# I think you underestimate
the cost of booze in London :)

I went to a bar with a mate for her birthday around Christmas time, and it was 4.50 for half a kronenbourg.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:42, archived)
# I was in Newtown, that's a sortof wanky poofy studenty arty farty suburb.
where beer isn't thaaaaat cheap.

If I was anywhere near the water I'd have paid $10 per pint.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:45, archived)
# Cunting water!
Making boozes all pricey!
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:49, archived)
# lordy fuck...
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:46, archived)
# Aye,
Although it was in Soho, and you expect to pay a premium there, that is still a pisstake!
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:47, archived)
# is that it? my local was after £2.99
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:39, archived)
# It seems I got cheap guinness!
but i'm used to beer at about $4.50 per pint

come to think of it in relative terms, $5.50 isn't awful, but still more than I could afford.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:44, archived)
# good morning
I hope you enjoy pooing again today or sometime in the near future. Good luck with that.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:29, archived)
# i just had a fairly good poo actually. i think the worst is yet to come
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:31, archived)
# be strong
I don't have a hangover and I didn't get a sip of Guinness last night ... although I did arsehole the best part of a bottle of port as part of my plan to get gout.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:35, archived)
# did you follow it with a whole topside of beef covered in stilon and brocolli gravy?
if not you're nottrying hard enough
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:41, archived)
# D:
I'll try harder
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:44, archived)

I would much rather watch some old Hitchcock or watch some Almodovar or Amenabar.

I do have horrendously weird taste in films. I seem to either watch absolutely brilliant films or terrible terrible comedies.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:29, archived)
# haha, i'm more of a film hoover, i watch anything once
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:30, archived)
# Yeah, I did go through a phase
of watching a hell of a lot of films a couple of years back, but I have this terrible habit of just watching the same films over and over. For example, when I saw City of Lost Children, I ended up watching it about 5 times that week :)
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:32, archived)
# i do that as well, mostly because if i watch a great movie i want every friend i know to watch it.
i think i saw the big lebowski 7 or 8 times in a fortnight when i first saw it. city of god is the same. there's so much in there you can't digest in one watch alone. the octopus especially
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:38, archived)
# Ah! Redemption.
It seems we do have a lot in common taste wise :D

The Big Lebowski is normally never out of my DVD player for more than a month at a time, and I love City of God. Did you see the TV series at all? Well worth a watch!

(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:41, archived)
# shamefully i've owned the city of god dvd for two years now and i've never seen it.
i think i might do that tonight
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:43, archived)
# It isn't quite as gritty feeling as the film,
but is still very good.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:46, archived)
# ah no, i mean i've owned the city of god dvd for that time
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:46, archived)
# I am confused :S
So you haven't seen City of Children or City of God? Or you have seen God, just at the cinema or something?
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:51, archived)
# none of them :(
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:58, archived)
# Oh I see!
WELL WATCH THEM HARD YOU FOOL! ;)
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 10:01, archived)
# even I've seen one and an half.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:26, archived)
# Yeah, whatever.
(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:35, archived)
# gonna watch it tonight :)

(, Wed 18 Mar 2009, 9:16, archived)
# I saw it.
It's shit.

"Like Dirty Harry never went away"

My arse. If you like modern touch, feely films you will love it.
Full of tolerance, respect and other worthy traits, laid on with a trowel just so the hard-of-thinking get the message.

What can I say but - at least it was better than Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls....
