Mind if I threadjack?

I've just done a GIF animation and got it down to 194kb, but I think it should go much smaller. It's some tiny stickmen playing on a static background, and it seems to be keeping the background in each frame, if you see what I mean. I've tried GIMP and 'gifsicle', down to 16 colours with no dithering... anyone know of a really good gif optimiser for Linux?

There's an optimise filter in the GIMP
That'll remove all unchanged pixels and minimise the area around the changes.
Sometimes (but possibly not in your case) in helps to quantize the colours *first* and then optimise (that'll make more similar pixels actually equal).
