You're not running anything else are you? Like P2P software?

Unless you've got a Zombie PC that hackers have taken over and are currently spamming the world with "Feed my XXX Dinosaur socks" offers?

# Well, I am running emule.
But it's been doing this for the past month on and off no matter what I'm running, though this is the worst it's ever been. And it affects all of the computers on my network.
(, Thu 12 Aug 2004, 21:08, archived)
# Check your firewall
to see what the hell is going through it. Check outgoing and downloading.
If emule is running and sharing/downloading, it may eat your bandwidth a hell of a lot.

Edit : If you have no firewall/virus checker/correct patches, chances are you've been Zombied.

# I have an idea!
Since I mainly use this computer, and it's very clean. I run a virus scanner and spyware remover every day. But what I'm getting at, is that one of my other computers might be a zombie pc or have some sort of virus. Well I'm off to check that and if nothing turns up I'll see you all tomorrow, can't stand this slowness anymore.

I have a summer job working on the tills in Sainsburys. Its crap I know, but it gets me money to feed my vinyl addiction (and it keeps me off the net).
Now today, i was working on the basket tills (it was a really crap day, everything went wrong) waiting for my shift to end, when someone comes up to me with a basket, wearing a "badger badger badger" t-shirt. This made me smile. Alot. I know its a long shot, but if that guy comes on B3ta atall (i thought the 2 sites go hand in hand), i'd just like to say two things. Thanks for making me smile sir, I salute you! :-D

Please to excuse my audacity in threadjacking your lovely infectious feathered friend, but I have a question for those who are loitering here at the minute.
As we have seen recently/for ages, we have got this bloody annoying 'threadwaste/but it's only a messageboard' argument going on. To me, as we bloody know (snigger) I don't give a flying fuck, but loads obviously do.
It seems it hasn't been done before or it has and it's link hasn't been spammed enough. Hows about a b3ta manners kit? I'm happy to put my shoddy HTML knowledge to good use to stop this rowing going on for eternity. Basically, if anyone posts something completely irrelevant, we could automagically spam the link of the kit? Seems that the FAQ doesn't quite seem to be doing the job on this bother.
