Due to size pressure I didn't make this look the way I wanted.

a gif with a frame delay of 0 seconds will play slower than a gif with a frame delay of 0.3 or 0.4 seconds in firefox and chrome

so it's not a consistent thing that can be relied upon it seems

take the foxy rip face of anim and do it to that :D

with a default of 0.2. I set all my dance gifs to 0.25 so if I post a load they will be in synch.

I think the reason I haven't started DJing or producing yet is, the equipment/software is a bit pricey.

ambiwank done with on of these toys, which in my case was off freecycle. The filter abuse was done by a sblive, which cost like £5 on ebay. You can get hardware for peanuts, if you are desparate for things to abuse sound with you can ghetto it with guitar effects pedals or some cheapo fx boxes off ebay, the cheapest in my mind though is using old sblives as fx units.

Open source music software isn't that impressive but there are twatloads of free VST's some of which are quite nice. As for quality recording, I don't know as I just ghetto the shit out of everything :)

My friend suggested getting MIDI controllers and Ableton and whatnot. I do know my local Cash Converters has TONS of effects pedals for dirt-cheap, so I could look into that.

As for software, I've been lumbered with GarageBand, but it's very, VERY limited. The most I've ever done with it is make a sample loop, which took much longer than it should have.

I'd suggest finding a windows pc or 2 on the cheap, and letting some software erm... "fall out of the sky"

The band is going well, got a couple of nice gigs in the summer to look forward to. We've got BLUE lasers now! BLUE!

doing some recording with my band at the mo, off to put percussion on a track tomoz in my mates studio.
then mixing it down, take fucking ages.

I think we are going in the studio in July. Boring. One of the laser things projects a moving blue laser sky between the audience heads and the ceiling. It's the best thing ever!

smoked up the venue, got the lazers just above head hieght, then we sailed big cardboard viking ships on poles over it, it looked awesome from up in the gallery

and a slide projector in the 70's. A sort of gutter up near the ceiling with a warm water tank which someone had to pull on a bit of string to release the water on the ice which formed a sort of invisible screen, then another bloke projeted a picture of a rainbow onto it. It worked quite well. A bit Heath Robinson but looked really good.

And yellow and red, You can pick them up really cheap now. They do a sort of purple one which is a bit more dosh but real blue are still painfully expensive.

I don't tend to pick up the pencil much these days 'cos my eyesight's so borked, I find the tablet and monitor much easier to scribble with, but they can't replicate the drawing experience.

Always interested to see where other people start on animal/bird pictures - I always do the outline and then the eye. I only carry on if I can get the eye right.

I generally do exactly as you do, outline, then rough contours, then the eye placement which is critical or it looks wrong. Details and then shading last

Once the eye's done, it's a case of detail from beak to tail unless there's something critical to the picture. I drew this magpie (3rd one down) and did the tail first - if I gooned it up, then I didn't waste time on the rest of the detail.

And shanked a Redshank.

I like the Magpie one best though, that's just amazing. I love drawing birds, they're my fave thing to draw, actually. This is another one of those done in pencil on sandpaper.

Interesting medium, too. I'm purely a pencil person these days. I used to paint acrylics, but don't get the time to set up, paint and pack away with the kids being older these days. Never painted water colour - can't stand working with the stuff.

I agree with your view of it too. Painting definitely is a thing to do when you have the space and inclination, but yeah, setting up the easel and getting enough space on a table somewhere is something I never seem to have time to do, whereas with pencils, all you need is a chair and something to put your paper on really. Much more likely you'll draw if it's a simpler deal. To be honest, since I got my graphics tablet, I've been pretty obsessed with learning how to do that but it's nowhere near the same medium which frustrates me a bit, but I'm still enjoying the ability to draw/sketch and erase mistakes instantly. Ctrl+Z is a wonderful thing. :D

I've actually played that version and it is indeed exceptional - it's the only time I managed to complete it too :) I upgraded PCs a while back and it doesn't seem to be compatible with this one though :(
