Yeah~ I used to use Flash for all my animated stuff. I shall have to get back into it.
PS is alright for animation, I guess, but it irritates me that you can't change the speed of GIFs... unless you can, and I just don't know how to.
( ,
Sat 12 May 2012, 15:20,

you can change the delay on a frame by frame basis
but really if you are using flash "speed" is down to the animation itself
if that makes sense :D

Yeah. When I preview it, it's really fast, but as soon as I've saved it and brought it over here, it's much slower.
I imagine a more optimized or smaller GIF would be faster. I'll have to have a play around with it later.

ah well, there is a "bug" or artefact of gif that causes a bit confuserisation
a gif with a frame delay of 0 seconds will play slower than a gif with a frame delay of 0.3 or 0.4 seconds in firefox and chrome

ambiwank done with on of these toys, which in my case was off freecycle. The filter abuse was done by a sblive, which cost like £5 on ebay. You can get hardware for peanuts, if you are desparate for things to abuse sound with you can ghetto it with guitar effects pedals or some cheapo fx boxes off ebay, the cheapest in my mind though is using old sblives as fx units.
Open source music software isn't that impressive but there are twatloads of free VST's some of which are quite nice. As for quality recording, I don't know as I just ghetto the shit out of everything :)

Yeah... I'm trying to go a bit French house/electro.
My friend suggested getting MIDI controllers and Ableton and whatnot. I do know my local Cash Converters has TONS of effects pedals for dirt-cheap, so I could look into that.
As for software, I've been lumbered with GarageBand, but it's very, VERY limited. The most I've ever done with it is make a sample loop, which took much longer than it should have.

Yes!
I generally do exactly as you do, outline, then rough contours, then the eye placement which is critical or it looks wrong. Details and then shading last
( ,
Sat 12 May 2012, 11:21,
archived)
Cool.
Once the eye's done, it's a case of detail from beak to tail unless there's something critical to the picture. I drew this magpie (3rd one down) and did the tail first - if I gooned it up, then I didn't waste time on the rest of the detail.

Nice wedgie!
Interesting medium, too. I'm purely a pencil person these days. I used to paint acrylics, but don't get the time to set up, paint and pack away with the kids being older these days. Never painted water colour - can't stand working with the stuff.
( ,

Not a fan of watercolours myself, I'm too much of a control freak
I agree with your view of it too. Painting definitely is a thing to do when you have the space and inclination, but yeah, setting up the easel and getting enough space on a table somewhere is something I never seem to have time to do, whereas with pencils, all you need is a chair and something to put your paper on really. Much more likely you'll draw if it's a simpler deal. To be honest, since I got my graphics tablet, I've been pretty obsessed with learning how to do that but it's nowhere near the same medium which frustrates me a bit, but I'm still enjoying the ability to draw/sketch and erase mistakes instantly. Ctrl+Z is a wonderful thing. :D

It's a nasty irritant
Elemental iodine (I2) is poisonous if taken orally in larger amounts; 2–3 grams of it is a lethal dose for an adult human.
Iodine vapor is very irritating to the eye, to mucous membranes, and in the respiratory tract. Concentration of iodine in the air should not exceed 1 mg/m3 (eight-hour time-weighted average).

Taters, I love this
Somehow she reminds me of Cherry from Studio Killers, proportions-wise too.

Yup - as thor said, she was the main inspiration for this character
Love the chunky, simplified style of her.

I saw a response poster to a KONY 2012 poster in town the other week.
Said something like;
"If you're having Kony problems, I feel bad for you son, he snatched 99 kids, and you saved none."
Or something like that.

and I now want to put my Amiga back together so I can play it again :D
I tried Minter's XBLA offering, wasn't impressed.
With his recent rant about how the sales were really low he kind of missed the point: NO-ONE BOUGHT SPACE GIRAFFE BECAUSE IT WAS PANTS

My brother and me used to play this on my Amiga 500 in th 90's
It was wonderfully bizarre.

I always had a thing for difficult-to-control isometric games myself
Like Head Over Heels or D/Generation.
Maybe I'm a sucker for punishment.

It's the most faithful remake I've ever seen. Plus it's so much easier to see where Head is flying over when he has a shadow under him :)

Aha!
I've actually played that version and it is indeed exceptional - it's the only time I managed to complete it too :) I upgraded PCs a while back and it doesn't seem to be compatible with this one though :(

I don't know I don't know I don't know.....
It's like what happens if you were looking at them from the side and not the front.... surely they would then be better of traveling in paralel to hide their numbers instead... like what if what if...
