Quick & dirty, but
I made this this morning when a colleague claimed that Tower Bridge once opened when there was a bus on it, and it had to jump over the gap.
Imagine my disappointment when it turned out to be 100% of true fact.
And yes, I had to look up 'bascule' in a dictionary

Damn - just finished something similar, but not as good.
