The Strange Secret of Dennis the Menace
I made this!
Tried to do a quick post about an observation I made and it spiralled out into a full history of the beloved character. Hope you like.

Really enjoyed that. Made me feel old though - I don't want my Dennis to grow old!

I enjoyed that muchly
I've got all my 70s and 80s Beano books still and they've really dated - I mean are today's comics allowed to have a fat character called "Fatty" that always carries armfuls of sweets?

The Bash Street Kids still has Fatty.
And he's still pretty much the same. Minnie the Minx no longer taunts Fatty Fudge, mind.

nice article, smashing blog.
i have forwarded your blog to an old college mate of mine, we recently had a disscussion regarding the comics of the late seventies and early eighties, and we both agreed that they had had a huge influence on our work over the years.
very few books lying around in our houses, but always comics, its what made us both want to learn to draw.
ps.. i prefered the fleetway stuff it was generally weirder.
