This is a normal post really looking forward to this i want to hold of from trying the beta though
as well early access and beta really ruins things was much better back in the days when people released finished games.
Loved the old elites played tham to death its shocking theres been nothing worthy in that genre for like 20 years with the exception of freespace and freelancer.

I made that mistake with arma3. It was so bad I stopped playing. I played it again recently and it's much better but I can't help feeling disappointed with it. Having said all that, I'm 43, Elite was a massive part of my childhood so I just spent £70 on this *knowing* that now we have the technology to justify the game. I'll try not to play it during the beta and I'll fail, just hope that doesn't ruin a lifetime of happy gaming memories.

This is a normal post Its worth getting the beta just for the flight practise
The way they created the flight physics leads to some intense dog fights.

Even when released it wont be the finished game i suspect.

Also the mouse controls are well iffy.
Recommend a hotas setup

But, until it's released, anyone ever tried Evochron Mercenary? I've been playing it for two years now, and it's truckloads of fun, even though the graphics aren't as impressive as in an AAA production.

The Dev keeps updating it regularly, and the fanbase is strong and quite resourceful.

It surely needs some time to get used to, but once you're in it, it's amazing. Discovering new systems, navigating through unknown space. Just the way Elite's supposed to be.
