This is a link post an animation what i dones I made this!
I was listening to Ulver yesterday for the first time in 15 years and remebered how good they actually were, so I thought I'd do a thingy...I don't know why he's naked...

I've tried, but never got into them - have their whole discography knocking about somewhere.

Best album?

This is a normal post OK

Is the track you used from one of those albums then?

When I was listening to them, I found them to be a little patchy, i.e. some good tracks interspersed between some droney noises etc.

Admittedly, I might have been high at the time ;o)

Perhaps I should dig them out again, after I've finished listening to Homodigitalis by The Lab, which is indeed most excellent.

This is a normal post I used two bits
both off Bergtatt(?) which is both metally and folky, then the second album is just weird norway dark folky. I will check out Homodigitalis though I've never heard of it!

edit:just looked them up, the first two Ulver albums are before they went electronicy/ambient so maybe not your thing, iono!

Nothing like Ulver - it's electronica. I like all kinds of music, particularly death metal and downtempo. There are some absolute gems out there that it seems no fucker listens to.

For those of you out there interested:

Íon - Paris Passay
Telepopmusik - Angel Milk
The Lab - Homodigitalis
Mount Cyanide - A Home For Better Living
The Flashbulb - Opus at the End of Everything
Peace Orchestra - Peace Orchestra
Ott
Shulman
Phaeleh
Ooh, and E.S. Posthumus (R.I.P.)

That'll do for now.

This is a normal post good stuff
personally I still would'nt recomend Ulver's electronic or ambient stuff even if that's what you're into.

This is a normal post I thought they were heavy, generally

But I think that's what I meant about the droney stuff - a friend of mine loves them, but I think if you're going to write ambient type music, you should primarily stick to that, and if you're going to write metal, then your album should primarily be that too; not half and half.

I will give them another outing though. I just have to be in the right mood to listen to new music, I'm sure you understand...
