Yeah but if you do that and find a particularly grotesque piece of self-abuse material it can be hard to find again.

Also: Don't defrag your HD? Is that good advice or the advice of someone who likes 'buckets'?

This is a normal post I'm okay with this.jpeg
File fragmentation under NTFS isn't much of an issue in that it allocates file blocks in a similar manner to the EXT* file systems. It's possible to get MFT fragmentation, but that is seriously unlikely to make a negligible amount of difference to performance. Furthermore, if you use an SSD defragging adds write cycles (shortening the life of the device) into the mix with no net benefit.

Just MHO though and your mileage may vary.

This is a normal post I concur.
Though SSD write cycles scare is a bit overhyped (in general).

This is a normal post Agreed, it is likely overblown
especially as I only tend to keep discs a couple of years before upgrading them anyway - but it doesn't hurt to keep swap/webcache on spinning rust.

This is a normal post I remember years ago at uni
a lecturer did something similar when trying to find something in his favourites list.

Surely if you know you're plugging your laptop into a projector, you clear your search history at least.

This is a normal post Not quite
For a demo video like this you use a VM with exactly what you need to be present, not your main box. Certainly not anything with *your* history or documents on it.

Raising your credibility by linking to pierat sites and having a big fucking utorrent icon on your desktop just screams amateur.

Ninja edit. For a presentation I'd use a separate, limited user account which again exposes the bare minimum to be functional - if only to protect myself in the event of being called away from the machine while unable to secure it.
