'Making light of the paranoia'
..or getting so caught up trying to be cynical about that paranoia and Daily Mail brand hysteria, forgetting there is actually a very serious problem

You're basically everything you look down on other people for being.
It's comical.

Please, do point out where I said that it's not a serious problem.
Of course it's serious. It could conceivably become much more serious. Nevertheless, it doesn't warrant the paranoia that's been whipped up in some places - indeed, talk of quarantining people might actually increase the risk, since it makes it more likely that those who have been exposed to the virus will avoid medical attention.
The fact that the outbreak is serious doesn't mean that there aren't ridiculous aspects to the response.

I didn't say you haven't said it's not a serious problem. In fact I haven't said YOU'VE said anything, so I don't know where you're coming from there
I suppose my view has been skewed by people i've watched comment almost entirely being cynical about the hysterical response of some
and not actually express even sympathy for the outbreak that's unfolding.
Which itself seems typical of many people I know. More ready to have a pop at the idiot they should know will be daft in it's response, such as the Daily Mail, than the problem they are reporting badly
